I never have since the start. Only when it makes me in a pvp match.
When I first started playing EVERYONE applied capes. I refused to join in with everyone wearing one.

Our guild cape really doesn't go with any of my Paragon's armor, so she never wears it.
My Ranger shows her cape when she's wearing her elite Sunspear armor, but otherwise hides it as well.

Taking into consideration I play only female chars and realising that a displayed cape coveres their behinds I'd say no. No displayed capes on my characters whatsoever. What's the point of your ele wearing 15k hydro when you can't look up her skirt every now and then?

Do I display my cape?
Short answer: Hell no.
Long answer: No. If cape designs were unique to each guild I probably would, but since every damn cape is based on only a handfull of designs which can only be differenciated between with close scrutiny, I honestly wonder why anyone bothers to waste 2 plat on them.

Gooood times. This is when I was in my old guild. The Tombs had just been released, we tried a run (this was before people came up with barraging so it took a bit longer than usual) and we took this epic picture right before the final confrontation. And no this is not one of those ironic cases where we failed despite the dramatic and heroic screenie.

Hehe, I thought I recognized the cape and a couple of characters there. Good times indeed! It's a small world

I display cape on every character except monk. She's too pretty to be covered by a cape <3.

Depends on how it looks on my character. We have a new cape in our guild and it looks really ugly on my Warrior with G-string armor (Female elite kurz), but on my monk it doesn't looks bad

I don't think my fiery phoenix cape looks good on my assassin, so I guess I'd disable my cape everywhere I get a chance to go .

It's always on for everyone but my Dervish, because it looks like crap on a derv (and clips like hell with mine's hair)...

I don't, because while my guild's cape is pretty, it's kind of distracting. Most of my characters just look silly in the thing anyway.
